Naya Restaurant Moderne
our comments
This stylish restaurant features an ambitious and sophisticated cuisine. Modern lighting fixtures crafted out of mother of pearl and mussel shell illuminate a narrow room lined with dark maple panels and filled with smartly appointed, linen-clad tables. Entrées include crispy duck confit alongside a rosy duck breast, striped bass with romesco sauce and merguez sausage, or côte de boeuf for two. For dessert, Kanfer-Cartmill shows us she hasn’t lost her sense of humor with a couple of monkey cookies dangling over a bowl of spiced chocolate soup, and other playful renditions of old favorites. A moderately priced wine list offers an eclectic selection, and a library list of high-flying Bordeaux is also available.- March 2005
