Bastide
our comments
This French restaurant in the middle of LA has walled gardens and decades old olive trees. The menu has a la carte dishes such as sweet lump crabmeat in a pool of tomato consommé and lemongrass, or cardamom-laced Colorado lamb with squid ink polenta and a zucchini-stuffed red pepper. More exotic dishes include seared foie gras with pineapple foam, coconut sorbet and sherry-wine maple syrup. Reservations are recommended.- March 2005
