Canter's is an experience.

Especially for those from out-of-town. It was the first deli I visited when I just moved to LA and I was (and still am) blown away by the mix of crowd. It is a feast for the eye to sit here on a Sunday and watch the different people. If I could bring a camera, it would be a wonderful episode of real life tv.

The food is ok, it's a deli so don't expect the 4-star restaurant.

That Canter's does have a good reputation may be clear: for so long this place has been open and it is still going strong.

I love their bagel with cream cheese and salmon as well as their matzo ball soup.

What I do not understand is why deli's in general have to be so overpriced.

It beats me to see why often the prices are equally as high (or low.. depends on your budget, I guess) as a restaurant.
